Cape Bedford - 4 Day Tour

This 4WD Adventure offers a mixture of coastal tracks and beaches, inland mountain trails, waterfalls, river swimming holes in the Daintree Rainforest and camping in swags under the stars whilst still being able to have a shower at the end of day.

DAY 1:

We depart Port Douglas at 7-00am and head to the Daintree River Ferry crossing. Here, we will make a leisurely stop at Cape Kimberly beach for a stroll on this pristine piece of Far North Queensland treasure. The beach overlooks the Low Isles and Snapper Island, which forms part of the Great Barrier Reef.

Travelling further north to Cape Tribulation National Park. We stop for light refreshments and a Rainforest or beach walk.

It’s at this point we meet the Bloomfield Track (off-road). Here we encounter a diverse landscape including creek crossings; steep inclines and rugged terrain all of which ensure that you really are on an adventure of a lifetime. On this section of the route we will stop off for a swim (optional) in one of the numerous creeks, before we make our way to the Bloomfield Falls.

From here we will head to the iconic Lions Den Hotel to set up camp. Here you have the option to go swimming in the creek or enjoy some light refreshments in the bar. The evening meal will be provided for you at the Lions Den.

Camp: We stay overnight at the Lions Den.

DAY 2:

The following morning its up for breakfast, and then off to Cooktown. Here you can visit the James Cook Museum or stroll around this amazing little historic town, then take a drive up to the Grassy Hill lookout for some amazing views over the Coral Sea. We then continue north heading to Cape Bedford and Elim Beach.

Camp: We stay overnight at Elim Beach or Endeavour Falls. This campsite includes toilets and cold-water shower amenities

DAY 3:

At first light we take a stroll down to the beach to experience the sunrise over the Coral Sea, then back to camp for a hearty breakfast. We will then spend the rest of the day exploring this amazing coastline with its tall sand cliffs, multi coloured sands, hundreds of starfish and sea cucumbers to see.

Drop a line in the water and catch dinner or just chill out on the beach.

In the evening after a delicious barbeque, you can spend the time sitting around the campfire whilst soaking up the ambience before retiring to your swag under the stars.

Camp: We stay overnight at Elim Beach or Endeavour Falls. This campsite includes toilets and cold-water shower amenities
